Lexus NFW Day 3: The Exhibits

So day three was a very pleasant surprise and a change of pace from the first two nights. Instead of the traditional runway, the Marathon building was transformed into exhibits for each collection that was part of the Designers Showcase for local designers. It was soo excellent and felt as if you were walking through a magazine spread. The models pulled out all stops and held these intricate poses all night as us onlookers gazed in amazement. Each collection was vastly different from the next and picking a favorite proved impossible! I literally walked through like three times! I just couldn't get enough.
The designers for the night were Pink Elephants (fierce glamour), Amy B.(Grecian chic), Black by Maria Silver (rocker hauteness), Brittany Blair (my fav!), Tuft (60's throwback), and The Trunk Nashville (simply stunning). It was probably my favorite night cause you could stand and marvel as long as you wanted and, the designs were EVERYTHING!!
Julianna Bass was the winner of the Fashion Forward Fund award and her collection was literally suspended from the ceiling in its own space! It was gorgeous and unexpected and utterly amazing!

Lexus NFW Day 2 Recap: Zang Toi

One of the BEST moments of the whole week in my opinion, came in the way of designer Zang Toi. The line had such a beautiful progression from stark white ensembles that progressed along the color wheel and, ended in a bright red color blocked gowns. In between this very full collection, was breath taking pieces for both men and women alike. This line bleed sophistication in the way on wide leg pant and skirt suits. It was intertwined with hints of glam with heavy embellished, necklines, deep v necks and lots of fur and velvet. Wide, open backs and, one shoulder looks appealed to the younger demographic. Lots of red carpet ready looks that I imagined A-listers like Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and Merle Streep in for sure! Pictures truly, I mean truly do this collection no justice. I was on a fashion high at the end of this collection and it COULD NOT have been better! I have tons of pictures to share just to give you a piece of the action! Cheers!!

Look of the Day: Zang Toi

Although in the mist of covering the now wrapped Nashville Fashion Week, some things deserve their own space. This dress is one of those things. Gus Meyers put on a show by uber great designer, Zang Toi. The whole post about the collection is coming soon, but this you gotta take your time and marvel at! This dress came down the runway and I immediately thought that it was very "Christian Siriano" with the empire waist and full, ruffled skirt. That was til halfway down the runway when it was discovered to be an overlay to fitted dress of the same material!!! It was an INSANE moment that brought gasp throughout the whole room. It was one of those moments when you forget that you have been standing in 6 inch heels on concrete floors and your practically lifted off your feet in amazement! Yeah, that was a lot but, you get what I mean! LOL
Anywho, I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, so join me and, enjoy this visual masterpiece! HAUTENESS!

Lexus NFW Day 2 Recap: Eva Franco

Day 2 of NFW was off to a steady start but I must admit, my heart hadn't skipped a beat yet. That all changed when super talented designer, Eva Franco let her collection run wild on the runway. The models were all upbeat and in very good spirits as they twirled the runway in her whimsical collection. It was clear that their love for her collection was reflected in there moods. The line consisted of all dresses and skirts in variations of A-Lines, strapless and sheath styles. The collection started with a black, white and grey color palette which included a few funky eyeglass print pieces.
From there came injections of strips of color and watercolor print dresses and skirts. A very feminine lace overlay on both pencil skirts and dresses was probably the highlight for me. She wrapped up with a jaw dropping sheer topped, flowy black number that was sooo Twitter worthy that I couldn't wait to post it! Her collection was solid, consistent and very eye catching. Local boutique Plucky carries her collection, so get like these happy models and find your inner Eva Franco!
