The Evolution of Janet Jackson

Over the years very few have had the longevity that Ms. Jackson has been able to maintain. Coming from a super star family and having the great MJ as your brother,it would be easy to get lost in it all. But she did anything but. She defied her parents at a young age and married her boyfriend secretly. She proclaimed that she was in Control in a one woman video that I learned the coreography to as a child. And as an adult she took the brunt of the now infamous Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction". Through it all she has kept her composure in the face adversity and nay sayers.
Like us all she has had her battles with weight, but when your a Jackson, its put on front street for the world to see. She however, keeps the haters talking by not only dropping every single pound every time but, she makes you wish you were her. Now at the ripe age of 45, she is still putting 90% of the 20 somethings to straight shame! I found some pics that really embody her evoloution over these past 20 something years in the game. Not always picture ready but, still a legend that can never be left out of talks of one of the best! Hands Down! Here is Ms. Jackson...if your nasty!

Look of the Day Angela Simmons

As little girls we all grew up playing with them and, as adults they get to dress up like them. I'm talking about the Simmons sisters. They hit the red carpet for the Barbie So In Style Collection Event and mimicked the styles of the classic doll. There involvement with this event is that they get to design looks for the new dolls wearing their Pastry kicks. Cha-Ching! Thats major because Mattel is a brand that is universal, and not going anywhere soon. While Vanessa look totally flopped, Angela sizzled in a bright colorful, youthful look. I love the full tulle skirt with different materials, prints and patterns. She has a very carefree,I don't care what you think attitude when it comes to fashion, and I love it. What do you think of this look?

Krist'a Collection Spring Summer 2011

Over Mothers Day weekend,I had the pleasure of attending the Heart to Heart Mother Daughter Luncheon put on by local designer Krist'a Davis. This event was held on the terrace of the Icon in The Gulch that offered a breath taking view of all of Nashville. The event kicked off with a mother/daughter themed fashion show that was SO adorable. The models were coordinated with the daughter coming out first, followed by the mother, then the two linking up and filing out together! Such an appropriate and unique idea.
The line also did not disappoint,as usual! This S/S Collection was full of bright, vibrant hues like purple, blue, yellows and greens, with bold colors dominating the season, she was right on point! The cuts varied from the classic knee length sheaths,to A-Lines that hit right above the knee,as well as sheer backs, and one shoulder looks alike. Unlike many designers, she incorporated small children's clothes into her line with fun prints and patterns that would make any girl smile. I love that this line offers something for any and everyone. You don't have to be limited by age or size because her fashion palette is very diverse.Oh yeah and did I mention that she does jewelry too! What does she not do is the question! Check out what all the fuse is about below! Comment and let me know your favorite look! Stay Fierce!

The MET Ball 2011

Last night was THE night for the fashion world as the annual MET Gala was held last night in NC. This year paid tribute to the late great Alexander McQueen with a Savage Beauty theme. Unless you live under a rock you understand the magnitude of pulling out all stops for this event as these pictures are seen by any and everyone all over the world. Lots of metallic and heavy embroidery was the look last night as well as long trains and dramatic makeup. Diane Kruger sizzled in a sheer, flesh toned topped dress with metallic coin embellishments covering all the right spots with a high waisted, black skirted bottom. This look was by one of my favorites, Jason Wu. Beyonce wore Pucci, Ciara wore Prabal Gurung, and Blake Lively was accompanied by Karl Lagerfield in Chanel of course. Eva Mendes stood out in an electric blue by Stella McCartney. The ever so pregnant Jessica Alba was glowing in a full length metallic piece by Ralph Lauren Collection. One designer reigned over all the others though, and that was the honorary of the night, McQueen. Stars worn looks from past collections like Sarah Jessica Parker in a 2005 collection dress of Salama Hyeck in one of my fav of the night. Enough of all the chit chatter, check out the pics below...Tell me which look you loved the most?

Look of the Day Rihanna

Quite the norm on my blog sight as a big head turner, Rihanna wow'd me again tonight at the MET Gala in NYC. This time in a Stella McCartney full length gown with a killer spilt and lots of sexiness to go around. The flesh tone back just makes my heart flutter! She went all bohemian with the braided hair style. I'm totally over the red but she keeps finding a way to make it work. And work she did tonight! Werk RiRi, Werk!
