Jay-Z for Barneys

After much controversy and lots of opinions, Jay-Z has released his, A New York Holiday collection at the very high end retailer, Barneys. All proceeds are going to his Shawn Carter foundation. Now that you know what its for, lets get to the price tags that are making headlines more than the actual fashion. For starters, there is a 58,000 Rick Owens crocodile jacket, an 895.00 mixed exotic Brooklyn ball cap and, a 695.00 ski mask. Also to add to the jaw dropping prices, there is a 33,900 Hublot watch and 2,590.00 boxing shorts. Now clearly none of these things are in fans budget but hey, they are cool to LOOK at! Lots of negativity has been thrown his way regarding having such a heafy price tag but I for one, am not mad. High end designers have historically been absent with people of color and we had absolutely no place in their realm. Now jay-z presents this line that not only sheds some color to that area of fashion, but he looks to gain NOTHING from this! He has always had a huge philanthropic spirit and he just furthers this, in such a fashionable way....and he did it without having to go on a Twitter rant or throw a hissy fit like Kanye West did. Fall Trend: A Sea of Blue

Since last year when I found I was having a son, blue became an instant favorite color of mine. Now with my baby boy in tow, blue has again presented itself as a standout color this year for Fall. Yay for me because, I can incorporate lots of pieces that I sported while I was preggo last year. Who says you cant be frugal and fierce. In addition to what is already in rotation, there are some pretty sweet additions that are going to make the cut. Blue is a color that can add a nice punch to an otherwise understated look. You can wear one solid, monochromatic color like, white, black or taupe, then add a blue blazer, pump or bag for an instant shot of fierce! This is a trend all ages, body types can take part in so don't be afraid to venture out into this sea of blue!
