Winter Boot Essentials

This Winter has already proven to be one of highs and lows literally. One day we are bundled up to our ears with every piece of outerwear we can find. Then other days, a thin blazer seems like too much. Its easily understandable how one could be at a loss as to how to look weather appropriate everyday. JAVA FIERCE TO THE RESCUE! There are a few boots that all women should have in rotation and ready to pull out a moments notice. Lets take a walk...

* The Rain Boot
Although it took me ages to accept this look, it is quite useful. This is obviously that is reserved for rainy days and rainy days only! DO NOT incorporate this into your day to day wardrobe by no means. This is a functional shoe, that in recent years has just seen some eye catching patterns that make them acceptable for adults. Wear sparingly!

* The Riding Boot
This is one of the most important boot purchases you will make so feel free to splurge on this one. This is a flat, knee lenght boot that easily conforms to any outfit. It is a staple for Saturday morning errands,casual Fridays at work, movie night with the boo, I mean this shoe is a lifesaver! I opt for the cognac colored one. I do because, while this is a casual look,the color is sophisticated and adds luxury to your look. Steve Madden, Michael Kors make excellent designer choices for this look!

* The Bootie
There has been a misconception about who can wear a bootie. It use to be thought that if you were short, you couldn't were them because they just chopped you up and made you look shorter. Well actually that isn't the case. If you are short and wearing a bootie,there are tricks to not "selling yourself short". First if wearing with pants,make those things as skinny as you can bear. The bulkiness of a full jean will add width that you don't need when wearing a short shoe. Secondly, if wearing with a skirt,the skirt needs to be above your knee. If below your knee,you need to wear the same colored tight as the skirt for a elongated effect. The downside to not wearing matching tights is a chopped up look that makes you look frumpier and shorter than you should.

*The Over the Knee Boot
First off, get the Pretty Women street walker look out of your mind and address this look with a fresh mindset! This has always been associated with the loose women who will do something strange for change but,those days are long gone now! This is a look that adds sex appeal to an otherwise normal look. Weather you opted for suede or leather,whatever you do, don't get it in white. I absolutely despise white boots with everything in me! Rather you know it or not,this look is quite versatile. You can wear it with skinny jeans and an over sized cable knit or cashmere, cocoon sweater. Also looks great with a A-line styled skirt that flows over the boot too. If, and only if your headed out to the club or party setting, would I wear this boot with a tight dress or skirt that comes above the boot. And even then, there has to be a loose cover up somewhere in the equation so that you don't look too..umm...loose.

* The Wedge Boot
Now with this look,you have the freedom of opting for a knee or bootie style. This is for the days when you still need height but don't quite feel like walking on stilts. They have the luxury of being very comfortable and fashion forward all at once. I recommend this for the "I'm just here" days that need a little lift.

New Years Eve Party Dress Ideas

Now that the holidays are over, and you have over ate, and the kids are happy, its time to let your hair down and partyyy!! 2012 holds big things in store as well as new beginnings and you MUST bring in the year looking your best! When you look good, you feel good. This New Years Eve, go all out with full skirts, sequins, super high heels, and bright funky colored lip stick. I am particularly fond of MAC's Dare You, or Ruby Woo lipsticks right now. They are bright, demand attention and with those, you don't need much other makeup beyond that, which makes for an easy night on the town. I know the thought of wearing 5 inch heels while you party all night is insane but,YOU GOTTA DO IT! Just keep the flats in the car for when the night is over. I love Betsey Johnson for her fun, frilly, party dresses and she always comes to mind when thinking of a fun look. Arden B and Express offer more sexy,short dresses to keep the boys hawking. Either or, find your swag this New Years and get dolled up, throw back some shots, and cheers to a fresh new start! HAPPY NEW YEAR FIERCE DIVAS!!!!!!

Cliche' but Fab none the Less

So everywhere you turn and I mean everywhere, you see a pair of the famous "Basketball Wives" earrings. You know,the big hoops with the assortment of swarvoski crystals on them. These girls have really started something! Hey,I'm just glad everyone is getting over the feather earring trend that got hammered into the ground FAST!  This is refreshing but like feathers I don't see this one stand the test of time. No reason to not have fun with them though. So I have a coworker who makes these things on special order and I copped me a sweet pair for 20.00 bucks. That's the difference between classics and trends, spend as little as possible on fly by night looks. We will be over them in a sec but,no need to not sparkle meanwhile right!?

Fierce Frugal Finds

So as I scurry to get my winter boot collection up before we hit the dead of winter,I'm always in the market for a new pair. As I was in my favorite store,Target for something totally unrelated,my eye was caught by these babies. Now,a wedge is essential for every fashionista. Stiletto's are super cool but, you must have alternatives when you want some height,without the pain.
These boots offer that and a hint of faux fur to winterize your wardrobe. They are easy breezy and a STEAL at only 28.00 bucks!! I know right, pretty haute!

Giving IS Fierce Youth Clothing Drive

As a teenager I know that looking "cool" is one of the most important things to them. As a single parent, I know that can come with a big price tag. I have never considered myself a "baller" but, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for those who have less than me. I do realize I'm blessed. God blesses us to be a blessing to others.
During the May 2010 floods, I was out in the trenches getting dirty. For Thanksgiving, I go to the Mission to pass out plates to the homeless. Its not a burden to me at all. The decision to do this clothing drive for kids was very natural for me! I only hope I can ease the stress and pressure off some parents by providing some necessities to their children. SUPPORT!!!

I had the pleasure of attending a very cool trunk show put on by the good people at Bullets and Mullets. It was an earring collection from a local talented designer, Kyndra Donelson. Her taste is very bright,trendy and attention grabbing! She pays homage to the hometown by having an earring for all local colleges and everything you need to rep Nashville! "Style is Heard" is her motto and, you can literally wear cassette tapes on your ears if you feel the same way! I particularly loved the color blocked style earrings that can take your wardrobe to the next level! Shoe of the Day

This is a shoe that I seen in Nashville's new Nordstorm and have had on the brain since then! Its by designer Jeffery Campbell whom seems to be carving out a piece of my heart as of late. Lots of his designs seem to bring big smiles lately. This particular conversation piece sits at 6 inches with a 2 inch platform. It is perfect for Fall with this Mustard color making the dullest outfit pop! Good with anything from out on the town mini skirts,skinny jeans for drinks with the crew or, a pencil skirt and cashmere cardigan,it has lots of universal ways to WERK for you. Stay Fierce dolls!

Fierce Frugal Finds

I'm in the market for a new coat this year and I am honestly overwhelmed on which style I will settle on. Most likely more than one..who am I kidding,two! Anyhow,as I checked out some of my sure fire favorite sites,I came across an eye catcher. This sequins moto jacket from Express. They are always good for the glitz in some form or fashion. This jacket is going for 128.00 and isn't a bad buy when you consider how trendy it is and the attention that you will get!
