What to wear Rockin Pink Party Edition

If you know me you know I LOVE to support a good charity and with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month,Susan G. Koman is the perfect charity to help out with! Once again the ladies of the LBD Club are putting together the first annual Rockin Pink Party. This is an event that is going to have a pink and black rock and roll theme so with me being the fashionista that I am,I'm going to give you some tips on how to get jazzed up for the FABULOUS event!
With the weather changing its a good idea to dress in layers as opposed to a heavy overcoat. That way when you get inside or if the weather warms up,you can peel away and still be comfortable. Since this is being brought to use by the LBD club you perfect Little Black Dress is always a sure fire safe way to go. I gave lots of pointers in my post on the Casino Couture event. If wearing a black dress though,I suggest that you find something else that is going to make it pop. Try a sparkly bolero or a fly away cardigan to cover your arms. Look for the best pink color cardigan that compliments you skin tone. For fair complexions,I would go with a light powder shade of pink in a rich cashmere. For olive or medium complexions,go for deep, rich colors like fuchsia. If your cover-up is three quarter lenght or shorter, stack on bangles in a variety of materials like crystal, silvers and shiny metallic. If your neckline is open, opt for a statement necklace(my favorite) but keep the ears very simple with a slight stud.
If a pink dress is you cup of tea, again find your right tone and keep it classic and look for an A-Line cut dress that hits right at the knee or a slim sheath dress with a black blazer(also my favorite) as your cover-up. Another look to try that is very in right now is the bandage style pencil cut dresses. The jersey knit material that most come in is a very forgiving fabric but keep in mind you body type when choosing to go with the straight cut of these dresses.
Being that this is a rock and rock theme a short, leather motorcycle jacket and push up the sleeves for an "I'm Bad" kinda look. Military looks are also a huge trend this season so feel free to channel your inner Armed Guard Services diva style!
I hope I have sparked some ideas in you head on what to wear to this event and if not, feel free to hit me up and I will be more that happy to get out there and find it for you!
This event takes place on October 15th at BB Kings on 2nd Ave and doors open at 7pm. There is going to be live entertainment and a slient auction so its going to be a really fun time for all involved. Also,if you go to the events website and purchase your ticket, you can put in promo code: FIERCLYPINK to get your FREE "pink my drink" cocktail. DO IT NOW....after you check out the pictures of course!
