4 Reasons to Love Winter

I know that at times like this we cant wait for the weather to break so that we can have some release from this brutal cold. While Fall is my favorite time of year, winter is a different story. I dread getting gas, going to the store etc... Well ladies, I want to try and give you 4 reasons why you may wanna look forward to braving that horrible hawk outside...

Scarves

These wear a staple in my grandmothers wardrobe and upon her passing, I inherited most of them. Lucky me!! She had classic style that was always noticed and mimicked. To keep her legacy alive, I like to incorporate these into my style one way or the other ALL the time. Now most of my grandmothers scarves are silk so I like to tie them around my neck is the most obvious use.You can check out YouTube to find out different ways to do this. But also I tie them around my head as headbands, also I tie them on the handles of my purses to add flair. For longer scarves you can use as belts as well.

Faux Fur

This is a cheap way to look like you spent a grip! The hottest trend with this material is in the form of vest. They come in a variety of colors and thickness but I like to go with a multi colored one that can be worn multiple ways. You can wear a totally solid color up under, for instance black skinny jeans and a long sleeve black v-neck top and you favorite over the knee boots or booties, throw that vest on,and your ready. Stack on some bracelets, add a metallic belt and your in their like swimwear. You can also top the vest over a sheath or A-line style dress with tights and booties as well and that's it. This is a stand alone statement piece,so no need to go all out with lots of accessories or other busy prints.

Boots

This is a no brainer for anyone who knows anything about fashion. Boots have made huge strides over the years and have evolved to a must have for any and everybody. Every woman should own a pair of knee boots, booties, wedge boot, flat boots as well as some comfy ones with a lil fur. I advise against petite women wearing calf lenght boots because it cuts you off and makes you look even more short. Go for either a bootie with matching tights,or a long knee or over the knee boot. Tall women can do whatever cause you have the legs for it. Lucky You! A variety of colors is key to make sure you don't wear out your basic black and brown. Camel or Cognac, grey, leopard, and different variations of brown should cover your wardrobe. With you basic blacks and browns, vary your selections with suede's,leathers, zippers.

Sweaters

For full figured body types, go for V-neck,scoop necks or anything that opens up your neckline. Turtlenecks are a No No, they just make you look fuller! If going with stripes, choose small ones as opposed to big ones. Cashmere is obviously the most luxurious but if not a big spender, go for a rich wool that feels good up against your skin that can withstand a few washes. Line dry for best results. Keep a lint roller on deck to keep it looking sharp and clean.

Coats

Trench coats are a necessity that never go out of style and can be worn weather its raining or not. Wool or your standard cotton are both okay. Pea coats in navy blue, slate grey and classic black are versatile that work for all age groups from teens to senior citizens. Double breasted work for slender figures and single breasted for curvy women. Leather jackets are most popular right through here in the motorcycle, rocker look with zippers. Think Michael Jackson Beat It days. Try either the black or the cognac color.

I hope I have given you a reason to have a little sunshine through all this stupid cold weather and that if you haven't, make the needed adjustments to find your staples and necessities to make this winter a to shine in!
