Nordstorms Nashville Style

So as the real fashionistas patiently wait the opening of our first Nordstorms here in my city,we got good news. I was concerned that our location would be a slight knock off from the ones in major cities. I was proven wrong. It was announced today that the store will carry both Gucci and Chanel and that's just the beginning! They promise this location will have everything all the other ones have. Doesn't sound like knock off to me. Now the media sneak peek hasn't taken place yet but I am trying! Til then everyone will have to wait til the grand opening on Sept.16th! See ya there!

How Are You Beating the Heat?

Now we are in the dead of Summer with record highs and down right unsafe temps. It weather like this that makes you forget about looking cute and focus on staying cool. But you can do both ya know! From the bottom up, start off with a nice, flat gladiator sandal or a comfy wedge. Second, from the bottom,go for a linen or silk shorts. If your where I am, even denim is too hot. Another nice alternative is the every popular maxi dress and they now have maxi skirts that are good too. If going for the skirt look, top with a light colored tank and your ready! Lastly, for top alternatives, opt for a tanks, halters and deep v-necks. To make these looks pop,go for various sequins colors. These are easy and make any outfit look a little more fierce and its not too heavy either.
However you stay cool out here, just make sure beauty radiates from the inside out.Make it where others are not only blinded by the sun,but your confidence!! Stay Fierce!

Brandy does D.Blanks

So famed photographer has done it again! This time he recruits singer Brandy for a good verses evil themed look. These pictures are smoking hot and show Brandy like we have never seen her before! I love love these looks on her. One day I'll be styling for the Photog legend...one day.

The Evolution of... Alicia Keys

With A Keys just celebrating the 10 years anniversary of Keys in A Minor I thought it only fitting to reflect on her fashion choices and the obvious change for the better. When she first hit the scene she was known for her signature corn row style and around the way b-girl looks. From long baggy jackets and jeans she created a look that is still mimicked even today. She blamed her laid back look on her New York upbringing and the fact that she plays piano, pants being more appropriate. But with age comes change and it wasn't long before she shed the braids and pants for a more feminine look. It looked great on her and flauted assets we didn't know she had under all that baggage. Who knew Alicia Keys had those curves! Whoa. And it wasn't long before her now husband Swiss Beats noticed as well. The two were married last year while she was still pregnant with their uber cute son.
Today Alicia is a staple on red carpets rocking all the hottest designers from Lanvin, Givanchy,Gucci and everyone in between. Age has certainly brought about a fashion do over that I can definelty appreciate! Although she stole our hearts with her classic braids and comfy looks, she has certainly found her nitch 10 years later!

Dare to be Different

Once again as I embark on my creative side,I decided to transform some otherwise boring denim shorts. Now, these shorts use to be jeans one day then, I got bored and cut them to Bermuda Shorts. Then I got bored with those,so I bleached them! I filled up a bucket with bleach and a little water then put the shorts half way in. I put a ruler in then belt loops to hold the top part out of the solution. I let them soak for about an hour, then wa-la,Ombre denim shorts!! This was easy and it will add some spice to your summer denim collection and is something you can show off as a "self made piece"!
Check out my before and after pictures!

Is it a shirt or a scarf?

So I was totally feeling creative this Friday evening and felt like making something unique. So what did I do you ask? I made a scarf out of an old t-shirt! It's was easy, cool and fun!
I simply cut the top part of the t-shirt off right up under the sleeves. Second; I cut 6 inch slits  from one end to the other, about a half an inch apart. After that,I just stretched each fringe til it had a worn look. The end result is an eternity scarf that can be worn throughout the summer because of its light material! I did this in under 10 minutes and now I have a piece nobody can say they have. Fierceness!

Shoe of the Day

With today being an especially festive day, an obvious choice for today's shoe is something that matches the Holiday. Today's easy breezy shoe is by Sperry, who are known for making the best of the best in boat shoes for men and women. This is a comfy wedge in a bright red that will make any Forth of July outfit pop! Since its a wedge, you should be good to go for a whole day of BBQ,fireworks and fun!

Happy 4th-Stripes all Around!

With today being a festive day for us Americans,I thought it only right to show you gals how to look holiday appropriate and cute all together. Going to Old Navy and buying a t-shirt for today is cool and all but, this is for those who wanna take it just a step further. Now keep in mind this a holiday to be cool, relaxed and comfortable weather your traveling or in your backyard for a BBQ. Keep makeup to a minimal and take a load off your feet and slide in some comfy flats or espadrilles. Maxi dresses, linens, mini shorts, and rompers are all fun, easy choices. I listed some cute options to turn to if you stuck on how to pull off an effortlessly chic look...and they are all budget friendly too! Stay cool and Happy Independence Day!

Haute Glammit thats Fierce!

As I celebrate my Independence by browsing my favorite fashion sites looking for things outside of my range, I stumbled upon a gem. A net-a-porter.com exclusive actually. What made Mrs.Fierce gasp...a mesh cardigan!! Oh yes,and its by fabulous designer Reed Krakoff. This nude colored,v-neck stunner just touched me in all the right places! It has versatility out of this world all while pushing the envelope and turning heads. The model wears this with a white tank and metallic skirt. That's okay I guess but, you could also do all one color, say red or the seasons hottest color, coral and use this as the icing! Also with a shift dress or skinny jeans and a wife beater with a natural colored, fringed pump. Fierceness. The possibilities are endless. This is what I call an investment piece that will be money well spend. It will set you back 590.00...yeah I know.
